Incredible Stories ยท Illustrated Genre Fiction
Wolf Hunt
From pulp-inspired short fiction to an illustrated experience built around atmosphere, danger, and the moments that matter.
The Publishing Idea
Joe Ward at Goliath Coins was building a publishing wing around Incredible Stories: comic-sized books with the spirit of old pulp novels and the pacing of modern short fiction. Wolf Hunt gave us the opportunity to establish what that line could feel like on the page.

The Assignment
Make the reader feel the danger.
My job was not simply to add pictures. The artwork needed to set the tone, create an environment where the reader felt immersed in the threat, and give the story's important moments enough visual weight to remain in memory.
Finding the Story Beats
Illustrate the moments that change the story.
I read the manuscript closely and worked with Joe to identify the moments where illustration could do the most narrative work. Each selected scene then moved through sketch, refinement, and finish before being prepared for the book.
Visual Rhythm
Tension needs contrast.
The finished set moves between ominous environments, direct threat, violent consequence, and quieter human moments. That range allows the danger to build instead of presenting every scene at the same volume.
The Result
A short story with a physical presence.
The completed illustrations gave Wolf Hunt a coherent visual identity and helped establish the intended tone for Incredible Stories: compact genre fiction designed to feel immersive, visual, and collectible.
The images do more than decorate the story. They determine how the reader enters it.
Every idea leads somewhere.
